A clear process for difficult acquisitions.

Every mandate starts with what the buyer actually needs. From there, the work is research, verification and careful introductions.

The process

Each step has to hold before the next one starts. That respects everyone’s time and keeps relationships intact on all sides.

  1. Define the requirement

We agree the specification, budget range, timing, location and any deal-breakers, so the search has a precise target.

  2. Search beyond obvious inventory

We look past public listings and dealer stock to private owners and operators, institutional disposals, fleet retirements, surplus, restructuring situations and pre-market opportunities.

  3. Verify the asset and controlling party

We confirm the asset exists, its condition and documentation where available, and who has the authority to sell it.

  4. Confirm fit

We check the opportunity against the requirement before introducing either side. If it does not fit, it does not go forward.

  5. Establish the transaction path

We identify who needs to be involved, which brokers or intermediaries are already in place, and whether a transaction is realistic.

  6. Coordinate introductions and the acquisition process

We make introductions and help coordinate the steps that follow, working with the parties and their advisers.

Who we work with

Atlantis may work alongside brokers, dealers, operators, owners, institutions and qualified buyers.

Where an established broker or specialist already has the relationship or the expertise, we would rather work with them than duplicate them. Our aim is a transaction that closes cleanly, not ownership of every step.

Source protection and confidentiality

Many of the assets we work on are not publicly offered, and owners often have sound commercial reasons for that. We protect source relationships and share identifying information only when there is a clear path to move the opportunity forward.

Our role

Depending on the engagement, Atlantis works on buyer-side sourcing, owner-side opportunities or qualified introductions. Our role, including whom we act for, is confirmed directly with the parties involved.

Buyers and sellers continue to rely on their own legal, tax and technical advisers.
